Jamal Badawi, Ph.D., is a Professor of Management and Religious Studies in Saint Mary's University, Halifax, NS, Canada. In addition to teaching in his formal field of education, Dr. Badawi is a member of the Board of Directors of the Muslim Association of Canada (MAC), the director of the Islamic Information Foundation, Halifax, Canada, and a member of the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) Fiqh Council. He has authored several books and articles on Islam and designed and participated in the production of nearly 350 half-hour segments of a TV series on Islam. He is also expert in Christian-Muslim Dialogue and a well known speaker in North America and abroad.

THE POSSIBLE ROLE OF RESTORATIVE JUSTICE FOR VICTIMS OF TERROR    Workshop at conference 10-11 March 2008

The European Forum for Restorative Justice organises together with its project partners the conference on Developing Standards for Assistance to Victims of Terrorism taking place in Tilburg, The Netherlands, on 10-11 March 2008. On the first day of the conference, the findings of the EU project are presented and discussed in workshops, including a workshop on restorative justice. The second day is devoted to the possible role restorative justice can play for victims of terrorism, followed by experiences of terrorist victims. The closing event is addressed by Mr. Franco Frattini, Vice President of the European Commission and Commissioner for Justice, Freedom and Security on the occasion of the Fourth European Day for the Victims of Terrorism.

Please note that the deadline for registration has been extended to 18 February 2008!
