Reflections from previous participants
I don’t know of any textbook or teacher that can prepare a potential mediator for the emotional component to this work. – it has to be experienced first and this training did that. It did not only expose me to intense emotional grief of others, but put me in a position where I had to experience my reaction to it, and how I can better manage those emotions to be more present for victims and offenders in future mediations, Thank you!
In my long career as a social worker, I have attended many seminars and training sessions. This one sets a new standard, which I think will never be surpassed in the rest of my professional life.
The exposure to real life case studies combined with the depth and breath of knowledge share by the teachers provided for research –based as well as experiential lessons. The structure of the class itself also modeled beautifully many lifestyle and spiritual lessons in terms of mindful connections with others and self-care.
So powerful, an indescribable experience – not sure quite how to share this with others, as I will never do it justice. This was probably one of the best things I have ever done for myself. I learned so much about myself during this time. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Thoughtful arrangement of the curriculum design, first the participants read the conceptual-orientated training manual prior to the training class. Then we came to these experience-oriented sessions. These six days really helped me tap into my heart ( laugh, tears, faith, love, hope… sometime ambivalence of feelings) Above all, ‘life-changing’ to myself, experiencing a glimpse of a ‘here and now’ dynamic between delegates from 8-10 counties in light of our historical past, present and future.
“Thank you for such an enlightening experience. I have never bee exposed to such diversity, wisdom and intuitiveness before”.
“The information presented was very clear and comprehensible. The compassion, sensitivity and flexibility of the trainers created a space where learning and participating was easy. It was a profound and inspiring experience”.

“Absolutely some of the best training I have ever participated in. It really became more than training at some point, it became something of an experiential journey that I will cherish for all time”.
“Stimulating and thought provoking, the training provided clear information and clarification on process.”
“I’ve participated in an infinite number of trainings over the last twenty years and this was by far the best!”

“I liked the emphasis on the spirit of the process, not just the nuts and bolts.”
“Talk about stretching and growing, this is the second time I’ve taken this, and it is deeper and richer than I remember. Being in the presence of one another from such diverse backgrounds and walks of life is enriching. It’s given me new perspective on the breath and possibilities to apply these principles and to learn so much from others.”
“No textbook could provide the intense human experience that I had the fortune to be a part of or the deep learning experience that was part of the process. The meeting with the victims, offenders and survivors was moving.”
“All presenters were fantastic and your passion for the work is brilliant and contagious”.
